Wildwool
During the summer months I prepared several batches of 200 g natural, hand washed & carded fleece of the Badger Face Welsh Mountain Sheep. This historic British sheep breed comes in two distinct colors: The Torddu, with a white body with a dark face mask and black belly stripe, reaching from the chin to end of the tail. And the Torwen, which has a dark body and a white belly stripe. All fleeces came from Torddu, naturally colored white/off white and beige, with a medium staple length of 37-28 micron. As with most mountain sheep, there is some kemp, but the fiber feels sturdy and warm with spinning and knitting.
If you are interested in obtaining one of these batches, please visit my etsy shop or send me a message.
With thanks to the Badger face mountain sheep that been so kind to share their wool.
